Cocktail rings are in! At least that’s what they’re saying. Dailymail.Co.Uk recently posted a story about the latest trend in celebrity jewelry – overstated cocktail rings.
Often large, but always eye-catching, many cocktail rings feature coloured gemstones and elaborate floral motifs. Outsized ‘costume’ versions are also hits with the Desperate Housewives generation. Top-end rings are not, however, the sole preserve of the red carpet. Commentators say well-paid professionals are increasingly buying them as gifts for themselves, taking their cue from the celebrity set.
The Jewelry from the Stars blog also attests the trend.
Cocktail rings are a lot of fun and can dress up any outfit. I say look to the stars for some new and stylish cocktail ring ideas. You can always stick to knock off cz cocktail rings so that you don’t pay a whole lot. It’s worth it for the attention you’ll receive.
We particularly love this cocktail ring. Its two layers of petals rotate atop a split band. It would go great with any new spring accessory! You may recognize its inspiration as one of Samantha’s pieces in the Sex & the City movie.

We love hearing marriage proposal stories. We get a lot of anxious gentlemen who stride nervously into our store on a mission, and we love hearing about how it all went down. So, if you’ve purchased an engagement ring from us, or even just simply have a great engagement story, please leave it in a comment below.
In the meantime, we thought we’d share one with you. One man in Washington, DC took 10 weeks to plan the prefect proposal. NBCWashington.com wrote a story about his prolific planning and execution.
Every couple has a “thing” they like to do. It may not be glamorous. It may not be glitzy. For Patrick and Sarah, it was playing the Word Dojo touch-screen game at their old local bar, the Townhouse Tavern in Dupont Circle.
That gave Patrick an idea. Why not have the proposal pop up on the screen while she’s entranced in the middle of a game?
He did just that, but with the help of friends and some good luck along the way. Watch the video below or read the story to see how it went and what her answer was.
