Stretching across the nation is a jewelry trend so popular amongst kids, that schools are starting to ban the jewelry from school. Silly Bandz are a current must-have for kids, teens and now even adults.

Not just your average rubber bands, Silly Bandz are made to be worn on your wrist and come in an assortment of shapes and colors. Once the bands are removed from your wrist, they return to their original shape.
BCP Imports, LLC, manufacturer of Silly Bandz, promotes the bracelets as items to collect, wear or trade, a practice that has caused a lot of schools to ban the rubber bands from school. Many principals restrict students from wearing the bands as the Silly Bandz seemed to distract the students from school work.

One way to make a fashion statement is to accessorize with oversized necklaces. This fashion trend has regained large popularity this summer as women have adorned their necks with massive, beautiful pieces.
The oversized, ornamental jewelry trend seems to bring with it a fascination with metallics. Many of the trendy jewelry pieces tend to include gold, silver and bronze instead of the once popular plastics.

August’s Birthstone is Peridot!

If your birthday is in the month of August, we’d like to send you a very special Happy Birthday wish! And for all of you lucky individuals born in August you have two birthstones, Peridot and Sardonyx!
Peridot is an olive green gem that results from volcanic activity. The gem has often been found in the black sands of Hawaii. Peridot is often considered to be a representation of nature and was once thought to connect individuals more closely to nature. Peridot symbolizes vitality, strength and new growth.
The other birthstone for August is Sardonyx.
Sardonyx is a variation of onyx with alternating red bands throughout the gem. The gem is often mined in India, Brazil and Uruguay. When given as a gift, Sardonyx is symbolic of happiness in a relationship.
